Book a measure

Start with the window that bothers you most

Most people who write to us are thinking about one specific opening — the lounge glass at four in the afternoon, or the stoep that the south-easter keeps ruining. Start there. The rest of the house comes up naturally once somebody is standing in the room with you.

Send whatever you have. One of our expert consultants will contact you shortly to set up a free in-home measure with samples, at no charge anywhere in the valley or over either hill.

By sending this form you consent to us using these details to contact you about your enquiry (POPIA). We don't share your details or send marketing.

After you press send

Three steps, and none of them cost you anything

  1. A phone call. Short. We work out where the house is, roughly how many openings we are talking about, and a time that suits — ideally the hour your light actually misbehaves, not ten in the morning when everything looks fine.
  2. The measure. Samples come along. Every opening gets measured on its own, because deep reveals and slightly skew heads are ordinary in the older homes down here and stock sizes are not.
  3. A written quote. Priced per window, in Rands, with the reasoning attached. If a plainer product does the job on a particular window, that is what you will see on the page.

Things people check first

Do you come over Ou Kaapse Weg, or only along the beach road?
Both, and neither adds anything to the price. Kommetjie, Sun Valley and Sunnydale, Capri, the upper end of Fish Hoek and the Simon's Town side are all normal working days for us. Further down the peninsula than that, send the form anyway and we will give you a straight yes or no rather than take the job and let you down on the follow-up.
Can the whole thing happen on WhatsApp?
The conversation can. The measurement cannot. We are happy to talk fabrics, colours and rough ranges over a phone, but a tape measure has to reach the opening before anyone signs anything — a photograph flattens a 90 mm reveal into nothing and hides a head that runs 8 mm out over a 2 m span.
We only want two windows done. Still worth your time?
Yes. Plenty of our work in the valley starts as one bedroom or a single sliding stack and stays that size, and that is a perfectly good job. There is no minimum order and no pressure to fill the rest of the house on the same visit.
How long from measure to installed?
Everything is made to your openings, so there is a manufacturing wait between the two — it is not a same-week thing. The consultant gives you the real lead time in writing on the day, based on what you have chosen, rather than a number we guess at now.
We rent. Is there any point?
Often, yes — but talk to the landlord before we quote. Some fixings suit a rental better than others, and it is worth knowing up front who keeps the blinds when the lease ends. We will spec it accordingly instead of pretending the question doesn't exist.

Prefer to read before you speak to anyone? The Noordhoek Wind, Light & Salt Playbook works through the valley room by room. How we work and the general questions cover the rest.
